Scott Logic opens Leeds office
16 March 2021
PRESS RELEASE
Software consultancy Scott Logic is opening a new office in Leeds as it seeks to manage a growing new business pipeline in Yorkshire and integrate within the wider business and technology communities in the city.
With more than 300 employees, Scott Logic is one of the UK’s biggest independent software consultancies, headquartered in Newcastle and with other offices in London, Bristol, Edinburgh and Copenhagen. The Leeds office is centrally located in a Grade II Listed building on East Parade and will employ around 20 people over the next 12 months.
“We already have clients in Leeds and know that it’s a great place to do business, with a strong tech ecosystem including initiatives like the Leeds Digital Festival,” said Nigel Wilson, General Manager, Scott Logic. “When you factor in the first-class universities, excellent transport and strength in financial services, it felt like an obvious choice for our next location. It’s rich with potential for clients and talent and it’s a city in which we are looking to put down firm roots.”
The company recently announced the appointment of former executive director of Government Digital Services (GDS), Stephen Foreshew-Cain, as the new company CEO. Foreshew-Cain has ambitious plans for Scott Logic, looking at sustained growth but also building deeper relationships with communities and having an impact beyond the company’s core activities. The new Leeds office is the first stage of the company’s 2021 expansion.
Scott Logic is a software consultancy that works primarily with organisations in financial services, investment banking and the public sector, such as DWP, NHS Digital and NatWest. It provides a wide range of technology services, including architecture and technical strategy, bespoke software development, and data engineering, helping clients to address an array of complex business challenges.
“Although in some ways it’s an unusual time to open a physical office, we anticipate an imminent future of hybrid and flexible ways of working, and we’ve selected our office on this basis,” continued Nigel Wilson. “A mix of remote working and face-to-face collaboration has always been how we’ve delivered results for our clients and this will not change. COVID-19 is proving to be a great accelerator of business change, and technology is the way to deliver much of that change.”
“I’m from Yorkshire, so I am personally delighted for the company to have a presence in such a great city. But mostly we want to be recognised as an important employer in Leeds, using technology to help our clients achieve their business goals and to connect with the broader communities in the city.”
