Scott Logic has joined the Government Digital Sustainability Alliance
19 August 2024
Scott Logic is proud to have become a member of the Government Digital Sustainability Alliance (GDSA). The GDSA seeks to promote, collect, share and demonstrate best practice aligned with Defra’s and the UK Government’s sustainability commitments.
We join a family of members including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and IBM, all dedicated to working together as a force for good through the GDSA, pooling expertise and resources to deliver on its goals.
Launched at COP27 in November 2022, the GDSA is currently progressing its initiatives through three working groups, focusing respectively on Scope 3 emissions, Circular Economy, and Planetary impact.
In relation to Scope 3, we at Scott Logic have been doing a lot of work recently on our proposed Technology Carbon Standard (TCS), which is designed to help organisations map, measure and mitigate the carbon emissions generated by their technology estate. We have used this to support trailblazing clients such as DS Smith in working towards their climate goals, and we look forward to contributing our insights from the TCS to the work of the GDSA.
Through the Scott Logic blog, we share our thinking on sustainable technology and will provide updates there on our contributions to and collective efforts through the GDSA. You can read here reflections on the GDSA’s first annual summit in March 2024 from our Technology Director, Oliver Cronk.
